Fun Fall!

October has been a fun month so far! I am loving the weather, wish it would stay like this all year.
-Luke went to his 4 month check-up (2 weeks early), so he was 3 1/2 months. His head and height are only in the 25% and his weight is right above 50%. Dr. B said that he is eating to much and to only give him 4 ounces at a time until he turnes 5 months. He was 14.6 lbs at the check. I have been doing the 4 ounces and it has helped his spitting up and he seems satisfied :) yay!

I found a find! This MICROFIBER recliner is HUGE! It was in a thrift store in town and it was a bit dirty. BUT IN ALL HONESTY, I knew that Microfiber was supposed to clean easily, and it did!!! I took a baby wipe out of my purse and did a little 'wipe' test and the dirt came right off! Jason and I vaccumed then scrubbed this thing for 3 hours, and it is PERFECT! Not bad for $40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Obviously, someone was just too lazy to wipe it off and they missed out big!

Last weekend we headed to Denver for the Snowmobile Expo. It was serious fun! Jason and I both got new coats for CHEAP! I have never had a winter coat that i just LOVED, but i love this one. I always went for totally cute and not practical, or all practical. This one is both! I have decided to give in to winter. No more cute shoes and coats.... it's time to embrace the uggs and keep the gloves and hat by the back door at all times. I am not dreading winter this time :)

The old snowmobiles were awesome, and Paisley loved running through all the trailers on display.

Coming up for the rest of October- Halloween! Primary Party! Painting the Salon!

Oh- and I made this last night. I got the idea off MakeitandLoveit.com... then i added glitter! Jason cut the 2by4's and i ModPodged some fabric, glitter and hot glued some fall colored berries. They are on my TV. Enjoy Fall!

Excuse the dirty table and the basting brush i am using (my color brush is at the salon)

Okay! Way to make the leap Girl!

Start by dividing your hair into 4 sections.

Then MIX your color.

In the bowl, put 2 ounces of 5N and 2 of 6G.

The ounces are marked on the side of the tubes. That is a total of 4 ounces.

Then add 6 ounces of developer.

COLOR: DEVELOPER ratio is 1 TO 1 1/2

3. Using your brush. outline the back right section with color.

4. Now, take 1/2 inch sections, starting at the top. Saturate both sides of the roots first.

5. Then brush color down the whole hair section. Make sure it's covered really well! No dry spots!

Then put the hair out of the way and do the next section!

-Move fast!
-Take small sections!
-Saturate the hair really well! BUT don't waste color, cause you don't want to run out.

Repeat on the next back section, then on to the front!

Put a garbage bag over your head, to keep the hair moist, and let process 30-35 minutes. Remember Ray, if it seems a little dark, it WILL FADE because your hair is so blonde.

As far as Crystals hair goes, she can either do 3 ounces of 5N and 1 ounce of 6G or ALL 5N. It's up to her on if she wants to add that 6G for warmth :)

Luke is 3 months this week! He hasn't been weighed for about a month, but he was almost 12lbs. in August and he is GROWING SO FAST! I would bet 14 now!

I started work finally! I am at a fun salon called Charizma! The owner is an awesome lady from my ward and she is on a mission! Hair shows and overhauling the salon... so fun! I am working Thursdays and Saturdays. Jason is able to watch the kids on Saturdays. Thursdays, Donna, Carol and Loretta have offered to switch off watching them. It has been so nice! We had a Brimhall wedding this week which broght me some great business and made me some new friends. Kathy reffered Natalie and Lauren to me for colors, and I must say, they look amazing. I also did the Brides up-do and some of the wedding party. I wish I was part of that family, they are all so fun.

Paisley is Potty Trained. She has to be reminded often when we are out and about, but no embarassing public accidents lately! I must say I love it. She is out diapers/pullups COMPLETELY and Ken and Donna got us a 200 pack of diapers for Luke, so I havn't bought diapers in a month and a half, and won't need to for another i'm sure :) Happy Day

Mom and Dad dropped by for dinner and sleep. Wishj they could have stayed longer, but we'' be in Idaho at Thanksgiving! They brought with them a 25 foot Uhaul and lots of treasures from Be-be and Pa-pas house. I hope one day I can hear ALL the stories behind all of the stuff they are passing down. Thanks everyone!

Luke is Fat.... and funny. He's a laugher and a cuddler.... and thats about it.

Things are going pretty dang good for us right now. Hope it trickles down to all of you!!!

Paisley took a tumble tonight. Poor Kid. She's SO dang rambunxious (spell check?) at night! Running around all over the house can only lead to one thing.... a big goose egg on the forehead... or a stubbed toe, or broken arm, I guess it could lead to a lot of things actually. For tonight though, the goose egg. She tripped over the trim between the carpet and hardwood floor.
Loretta checked her for a concussion, but we think she's fine. She got over it super fast and Luke slept through the whole thing....

Since we are potty training this week, we are pretty much bunkered down in the house. I've been doing a lot of sewing, i've missed it. I havn't done any since Luke was born.

This week has been a busy one so far, even though we've hardly left the house. Jason has been working like a dog, working by 8 and home around 8 if i'm lucky. Paisley is potty training and doing great at it. I don't know how she'll handling 'going out' but we'll do pullups a few times and see.

I started with reminding her every 30 minutes to try to go potty. Today she's been running into the potty by herself! She's on Ammoxicillan for an ear infection, which means the "shards" but thats only happened once in her panties today. "Shards" ... ha ha....

Kathy invited me over to learn some applique! She's so crafty... she's so everything actually. She has taught me a lot. I am loving this applique-ing. I bought somw plain long sleeve tunics at Wal-Mart for $5 and used scraps to applique.... I've gotta do some for my sisters kids :)

Luke was blessed today, August 17th by his Grandpa Ken. A lot of the Shepherd/Meeks were in SLC this weekend for a wedding, so Jason and I decided to bless Luke in Preston and HOPE that all could be in attendance. It was wonderful. In the circle were Kenneth, Cordell, Bob Hull, Rob Hull, Dick Hull, Bob Meek, Monte Morgan, Mike Stenburg, Randy Meek and Nate Merrill. Thanks to all you men! (HOPE I DIDN'T FORGET ANYONE)
Church was at 9, chips and dip and chatting until 11:30 when we had a hamburger lunch. My parents and Jen did an amazing job putting the house and lunch all together. Thank you!
After all of Jasons family left, Jason and I took Lilly and Paisley on a 4 wheeler ride over to the farm to see the animals! Talk about FUN!

6 week checkup

The chunky monkey went to his 6/7 week checkup today! He had to get his shots, but he did wonderfully! He wieghed 10.5 lbs.and was 22 inches! I know how little 10 lbs. is, but from 6.8 to 10.5, he seems so big to me. His sweet cheeks are my favorite. I can't wait for all my fmaily to see him this weekend in Idaho!

We had a blast at lAkE NavAjO! It was a challenge getting packed and ready to leave, but I was able to pull my thoughts together and finally be comfortable with what I had packed. I am SO NOT GOOD at packing for things like this. With a toddler and a newborn, I swear, I packed the whole house. Plus, I'm pretty positive my "pregnant brain' has not worn off yet.

I am 6 weeks Post Op, and was worried about doing any water sports. I did little by little and ended up surfing, wakeboarding and taking a killer tube ride with Christina and Mikala! I feel awesome and I am so glad I was able to participate. Jason did amazing on all things he tried, of course, and even took paisley on a kneeboard ride.

Paisley impressed everyone with her MAD SWIMMING SKILLS! Courtesy of Papa! When Papa and Nana came out here to watch Paisley when Luke was born, Papa bought her a PFD swimming suit and taught her what she knows in the Hotel swimming pool! Thanks Papa!
Of course, with her sensitive skin, we had a rough time keeping her face from flaring up. Now that we are home, it is under control, thank goodness.

Next few weeks we are headed to Paisleys first dentist appointment, going on a Ward Campout, maybe seeing a dermotologist about Paisley skin, driving to Utah for Mitch's wedding, headed to Preston for Lukes baby blessing and getting to see a lot of FaMiLy!!!!

Paisley's 'Jump-O-Lene' suffered an attack from puppy IKE. SO, we turned it into a little swimming pool, or, um, a puddle.

Paisley sat like this with Luke for about 15 minutes. Jason said she would not move. She eventually fell asleep and they slept like that for a while. As I write this, she is sitting on the couch with Jason, and Luke is laying on her lap. She is holding his hand and stroking her cheek with it. Love!

I had my last Dr. appointment on Thursday morning. My Dr. asked me if I would mind moving my c-section to Wednesday, the 1st, rather than Tuesday. He had a family thing he wanted to be at on Tuesday, and of course, I was fine with it. BUT LUKE WASN'T!
That night we had a nice big dinner at Ken and Donnas. They had an old friend over to visit, eat and share bear hunting stories. It was a fun evening and when we got home, I was feeling tired, as usual. I stuck Paisley in the bath and proceeded to take off all my make-up, wash my face and pull my hair up. When I turned to get Paisley washed, I realized that I was not going to be able to bend over the tub, my stomach hurt too bad. So, I ran to the back door to grab Jason off the driveway, and right as I hit the back door, my water broke.
As I just stood there, Jason ran around, tripping over things and asking "what do I need to do?". Ken and Donna came over to watch Paisley, and Jason and I headed into the hospital. My water broke at 9:20 p.m.
At the hospital, I was informed that my Dr. had gone out of town and would not be able to make it back. Dr. Frow ended up coming in to do my c-section. We had Luke by 11:30 p.m.
Luke "the little boss man" knew what he wanted and made it clear that he wasn't waiting!

It's been fun to see the light go off in Paisleys head about her baby brother we have been talking about for so long. My parents have had Paisley for the last 2 full days and I miss her so much, but I realize that I couldn't have her climbing all over me. Thanks nana and papa!

I'm feeling surprisingly well as long as I don't let my motrin ware off :) Luke is a sleeper, and
he is making it so easy on me. Jason waits on me hand and foot and is very sympathetic.

I wish my sisters could be here to love on Luke! (You guys are gonna love him!)

I wish I didn't feel so crappy. I wish I was more motivated. I wish I wasn't such a baby... I mean, what if I had to go to 40 weeks?! That'd be a sight.

I think I feel crappy because I forgot to turn on the air conditioner.

I wish Jen could follow me around for a day and tell me what exactly I am doing wrong when it comes to cleaning and keeping my house clean. Why am I useless in this venture? I do it ALL DAY LONG and nothing looks any different when Jason gets home at night.

I'm now positive about the crappiness being linked to the air conditioner.

My camera is officially broken. It's been unoficially broken for a few months and even took a trip to the KODAK center and still... it fails on me the week before my 2nd baby arrives. Hm.

On a positive note:
The B.p.p. series of tests I was supposed to have done at the dr. got called off during the test, because all my #s were perfect. Yay, the baby is not stressed!

Paisley is saying and doing some of the sweetest things lately. I am spending gobs of time playing with her, doing puzzles and letters. We have had lots of fun.

I can't wait for my mom and dad to get here next sunday. I realize that our location puts a damper on the "fun" level, it's no Nashville, but I know Nana and Papa can make do, and make it a super fun week for Paisley. I am so thankful that they are able to come out here and help.

My mom sent me some GREAT fannel fabric this week! She sent about 10 yards- 5 yards of all different patterns that are cohesive colors of light blue and yellow. ALSO 5 yards of different cowboy patterns, all are also very cohesive. SOOOO CUTE!
I started cutting the 'cowboy quilt' squares tonight, and when I was tired of cutting, I decided to use the scraps to make a little stuffed horse with a black ribbon mane. It turned out OK, but I will make the next one much better and a bit bigger. I am loving all the fun stuff I am able to craft up for my little one. Thanks again Mom!

We'll start with the dog house that turned into a luxury home for our new pup IKE. The right portion is the actual "home" (Missing two front pannels) which is soon to fe foamed for insulation on the inside. The right portion is the porch/shaded area and kitchen. Haha. Jason's too funny. Here is our new Kitchen floor! I gotta say, it is SO nice to not have to VACCUUM my kitchen! Thanks for putting it in Jason! I love my handy-man Hubby.

Thanks Mom and Dad for our Double Stroller! I will be traveling to Idaho in June with Paisley, and I am planning on taking my new double stroller, even though I just have Paisley. It's going to be nice to carry Paisley's car seat in the stroller with her. I've tried dragging it around with the luggage while pushing a stroller... it doesn't work.

I've decided to get THIS bedding for the crib. I am awful at deciding a nursery theme, so I am going neutral! I'll make up for it in accessories! I found it at JCP.com. I just love the clean, puffy cloud look...

This is IKE! Ever since our puppy Lucy got out of the yard and dissapeared,

we have been puppy hungry. We decided to get some projects done around

the house first and wait for spring. Spring has sprung, so I called around to

some of the animal shelters in the area, to see what they had.

The Valley Humane Center had just been brought an 8 week old boxer/charpei

mix (they think) that had been abandoned. Perfect timing! Lucy was a purebred

Boxer, and IKE looks just like her, other than color.

The V.H.C. charges an adoption fee of $100 which includes all shots and nutering.

It was a good investment!

He already is scarfing down his food and bounding around behind Paisley

everywhere she goes. Jason built him a dog house you'd see in Orange County.

It has a porch with shade! He's the best- I'll post thoes pics soon... it needs a paint job.

I've come to the conclusion, that making clothes for your child is not neccessarily cheaper than buying them, BUT IT CAN BE IF YOU SHOP ON FABRIC CLEARANCE! Plus, it gives me something to do with ALL my spare time. You can get some cute stuff for around the same price at Walmart. It is nice to learn the skill though. Being able to sew will definately save a few items of ripped clothing from the garbage.

I bought a pattern for $4. It includes a 2 cami tops, 1 pair of pants, and 2 dresses.

Cami 1 with ruffles- $2 for fabric

Cami 2 with front pocket and Pants- $2.88 total for fabric

I havn't made the dress yet. I need to find some cheap fabric.

I also found a FREE skirt Tutuorial online. It is a reversible wrap skirt.

Idaho!

Getting to spend a week in Idaho with my family was just what the doctor ordered. The 12 hour drive was surprisingly easy, apart from my car sick child who requires dramamine, which keeps her from tossing her cookies but completly tosses her sleeping schedule. I'm not complaining though.
We got to spend a whole day in SLC at the Discovery Museum! It was super fun. Meggy liked the water tables and driving around as the fashion police. Paisley liked the water tables followed by the hand dryers, over and over and over AND the air tubes which sucked up the plastic balls like the tubes at the bank, SO fun. Lilly conquered all events, but as you can see from the picture below- she is meant to be a grocery checker.
We had a fun time all together. I love spending time with my family.

I have really been loving Jason job lately. Spring has hit and it has been so much fun having him around a lot. He works really great hours and can do work from home some mornings. I snapped this picture of Paisley and him sleeping this morning.
Paisley now sleeps in a 'big girl bed' all night, up until about 6 a.m. when she comes to our bed to 'cuddwle daddy mommy'.

When night time tubby time comes around, it's usually a mommy job. Last night Jason gave her a bath, put on PJ's and even blow-dried her hair because she was shivering.

My Projects

Spring is here! Not having an 'out of the house job' has started to take it's toll on me, so I decided to get moving on my spring, baby and home improvement projects. Here are a few.

1. Paint the outside windows of the house... we are 3/4 of the way there!

2. Paisley's Bird Mobile for her bedroom. I have finished sewing 5 birds and am going to get more fabric today. It will look so sweet hanging from her ceiling! Each bird has cost about 40 cents in fabric and stuffing, the twigs from the yard and fishing line from the tool box. A similar mobile sells on ETSY.COM for about $150! Yay me!

3. Clean out garage and organize ALL Sorage- DONE !

4. We've been on the lookout for a pair of dressers for the past few weeks. I remembered a pair of white ones that used to be used in our old house when I was little. My dad gladly gave them to me and I will be refinishing them... yay! Pic's to come.

5. Paining paisley's room and a mural abover the bed. The walls are panneling, so I couldn't buy the stick on decal shown in the pic, so I will hand paint it.

6. Potty Training? Working on it :)

I sent my Memory Card for my camera through the washer, so sorry for the lack of pictures.

Time out for Women

Time Out for Women is a womens Conference put on by Deseret Book. It's much more casual than, say, BYU Education Week or Womens Conference in April, but just as uplifting. The speakers are mostly authors and musicians and were really great. I went with a with a few women from my new ward, including my 2 sister-in-laws and mother-in-law. It was a long car ride to Denver on Friday and a long ride home on Saturday for a pregnant ME, but was worth it. Jason was way excited to have some bonding time with Paisley! He and Pay-pay and Kenneth even spent all day Saturday builing me a bed frame for my bedroom.

The tour will be hitting places like Logan and Pocatello along with various places across the US this year, so it might pay to check out their tour schedule. DeseretBook.com/tofw.

The tickets were $47 when purchased in advanced, but when purchased far in advance with a group of 5 they go down further. I'd love to go back with my mom and sisters when the tour is in Logan or Pocatello.

My favorite presenter by far was Deanne Flynn. She was hillarious and did an amazing job showing us how being good mothers was not about appearances and making it to lessons and 'a busy woman = a righteous woman', but instead slowing down and making some sacrifices to be around eachother more.

All of the talks about motherhood had me more often thinking about my mom than myself as a mother. I love my mother and this weekend had me really missing her, my dad and my sisters.

Today, as chief executive nose-wiper, schedule-keeper, and bedtime story teller for her seven children, DeAnne feels she's earned an advanced degree in "Managing Busy Lives". She is the author of The Time-Starved Family: Helping Overloaded Families Focus on What Matters Most.

Paisley and I arrived home on Friday night from Idaho. It was an awesome week spent with my family... and much needed.
Jen provided the R&R. Paisley had fun playing with Lilly and Meg and learning a lesson on hitting. Poor Paisley had to put in time out 50 times. We're working on it. Now, if I move her hand away from something she shouldn't touch, I get a "don't hit mom!". Pay knows how to open ALL of jen's doors in the house, so we often found her sitting on the potty fully clothed and once had to change clothes from falling in. Potty Training Anyone? I love Meggy so much! She loves to squinch her face and say cheese!
While mom spoiled our shopping addiction, which i've never been more greatful for, and went to school all week... she amazingly had time to just hang out in the toy room with Paisley and I. I miss being able to just sit in the same room with Mom and Dad and even not do anything. Just be there.
Dad really helped us out in figuring our taxes for us. So Huge! Thank you dad. And of course Dad paid for two awesome dinners and cooked some amazing pancakes. Get out the wheat grinder dad, cause we're gonna get to that next time!
We had a scare Friday morning around 3. Being woken up from a deep sleep from thoes intercoms "Dad I'm sick" is not fun. It gets your adrenaline rushing for what is to come. Cordy was super low and on the floor downstairs. Dad and Mom sprang into action dumping a few cups of OJ into him. He made a quick recovery and I'm GLAD he's okay... and that he made it to the intercom. Love you "Tordy"
I wish KK could have been there, but we will hopefully all rendevous in May/June. And Paisley's hitting should be under control by then :)

Today was such a busy V-Day! Jason's brother, Matt and his wife Cara, are expecting and we had a BIG V-DAY BABY SHOWER! Afterwards, we all headed to Ken and Donna's for some Karaoke, Cards and Birthday Cake for Jason's 22nd.
I asked Jason what type of B-day cake he would like, only to be told "You know I don't like cake, I'd like some AirHeads". Too bad candles don't sit on AirHeads. He got Vanilla :)

This morning Jason was SET on taking me snowmobiling. He has been trying all season to get me out there. He found a babysitter, snow clothes and a snowmobile for me to ride. It was a really nice day spent with him. I love him. Sorry we didn't take the camera. Have a good weekend!

I totally feel like if you love your decor in your home, it makes it a much lovelier place to be. I ordered some bedding for my room and was sadly dissapointed when it turned out to be purple instead of brown.

Anyways, I instead want this Duvet Cover shown above, but I do not have a down comforter that fits my King, Anyone know where I can find a good, cheap down comforter? What makes a good one?

And, If you were going to buy a full matress, where would you look? (Paisley)

Ken and Donna Home!

It has been a weekend for the books! Jason's parents, Ken and Donna, came home from their 18 month mission to the Phillipeans! They flew in Saturday afternoon, we then headed to Cavillos for a big mexican dinner. I think we had about 80 people including all 10 of Jasons siblings and their families and Donna's brothers,sisters and parents. What a night!

Sunday they spoke to us all in church and following church we had a big family lunch in the cultural hall.

It's been the first time in a long time since ALL of the siblings were together. Photo Op! I think we were only missing 6 people total.

I've entered my 2nd trimester this week! 1/3 of the way there! I had a doctors appointment today, when I got there I was informed he was sick and not in today, so I had to see someone else. No phone call. I survived, although annoyed.
The doctor said that since my due date is July 12th, I will have the C-section most likely on the 5th. No promises yet though. Since Paisley was 2 weeks early, he said they may push it into June, but we'll talk to my REAL doctor about all that.
I will have my 20 week ultrasound on Feb 16th. Any guesses? Check back!
Oh, and I was 10lbs. lighter than i was at my first appointment... the stomach flu will do that to you :)

Tonight was our ward party which included a fajita dinner, dessert, a primary nativity and none other than a visit from Santa!

I was prepared with the knowledge that Paisley is of the age when they either love him or hate him. I prepped Paisley all night. I told her we were going to a party (a plus in her book) and Santa would be there to give her candy (plus #2)! Oh she was prepared for Santas treats!

The best part of the evening was a video they showed of Jesus birth and life. Paisley laid in my lap and sat intrigued. The first 2 minutes of it she made that sure everyone knew, every single time Jesus came on the screen. "Jesus!" and "broder" (brother).
I love her.

Thankful for new friends

Happy Thanksgiving! We got to participate in the big shindig at Loretta's this year. 20 people is big step down from our usual 60ish. Until Ken and Donna get home, that's how it is, they are the life of the party.

Later in the evening our friends,, The Snell's came by with their kids and grandkids from utah... Let me introduce Ashton! He and his brother Kaleb are so cute! Paisley fell in love with Ashton... I can see the appeal, every girl wants a big strong younger man to take care of them. He's 10 months and the sweetest thing I ever saw.

I honesly can't even read or hear about others getting the flu without feeling as if i'm breathing the bugs.
Paisley was first, all day and night Monday. Pooor Kiddie. Followed by me Thurday night- Saturday, this morning. Jason won't get it. He claims it is his mindset. "You tell yourself you aren't weak, because weak people get sick".
I'm not putting away the Phenurgan yet Jason.

Paisley Bea loved playing at the new school park today. It is open to the public after school hours, so today we went to try it out.

Favorites included:

3. The 'croc-dile'. She rides it and then runs away from it as if she is scared.

UPDATE- I didn't think it was bloggworthy, but Kristin seemed to think so. Paisley likes to sit on the potty... but don't get your hopes up, she just does it to be able to 'wipe', Yesterday, I told her she couldn't wipe until she went poop in the potty... so she did! Milestone?

I am on my journey to become domestic, like my sisters and sisters-in law. I have become a sewing fool, if sewing a lamb halloween costume classifys you as a sewing fool. Lorretta helped show me the ways of patterns. It was a fun two days on the sewing machine. Aren't you all so proud though?

Paisley's cousin Jake won his Championship Football game on Monday! Paisley decided she wants to play too! Jake is #9!

Shelby went to yet another Homecoming last weekend. I was on hair duty and Paisley was on entertainment.

It's final! We will be in Houston for Christmas! Jason, Paisley and I will be going with Mom, Dad and Cordy. I can't wait to be in Be-Be and Pa-Pa's house again. We missed out on Myrtle Beach and I'm excited to see Kim and Randy, Ray and John, Crystal, Ty-Ty and Parker!!! Time to prepare Tyler, you'll be meeting your match soon!! Love you all!

Last weekend was our 2nd anniversary! Bob and Lynette took Paisley for the weekend to Idaho Falls and we headed up to Twin Falls. We saw a movie, had dinner, went swimming and went to the Twin Falls Temple open house. It was so great!

Last weekend we headed up to Idaho Falls for some awesome recreation with Bob and Lynnette's family. They have been so much fun to hang out with! Bob's the greatest to take us out on his boat and Lynnette is more than accommodating with providing food, games, fun and of course a camera. I love their kids! I still think it's so funny that they are my nieces and nephews (Jessica being 2 years younger than us) but they honestly feel like best friends, or brother and sisters! Thanks for everything!

Paisley loves to sit on the boat with the wind in her hair! She's a total water baby too! She'll jump right off the back of the boat, so someone has to be right there and keep a good eye on her. We love anything with water in general.

Congrats to head of the family, Jason! He went to school to be a lineman for power companie and has been waiting a year for an opening with Rocky Mtn. Power, which covers Southern Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and Oregon. After applying, he had to go to Salt Lake to take "The test". Half of the men there were RE-taking because they'd failed. Not the best odds... But we found out Friday that he passed!!!! Now he has to interview and we'll see where we land!

Oh Paisley. You can imagine my distress, as a hairdresser, to find that Paisley will NOT keep a bow/clip/pony ANYTHING in her hair!
No Joke, when she's mad at me, she squints at me (the mean look) reaches up to her pretty piggy and PULLS IT RIGHT OUT!!!! How is it that this 13 month old child knows what gets me.
That should explain the hair in the underlying picture. As for the seating arrangement, thats Aunt Jen's doing, but for good reason. Paisley is just learning to sit at the kiddie table on her own, and likes to pull down anything she can reach, plates, food and cups full of juice. She forced Jen to take measures...

At the end of the day, theres always Pa-pa....

Paisley had her 1 year appt. today. The doctor was very specific in what Paisley should be eating and doing, which is nice to hear. I thought she was getting a little husky but turns out shes right at normal at 21 lbs. A little low on height... who does she get that from?

Paisleys 1st birthday party was a big hit! She got her very own cake, a spaghetti dinner and a Dora ball pit! We had some Care Bear Cake , with a special little cake just for Paisley.

A New Start, A New Year, A New BLOG...

As most of you know, it was a trying December for our little family. I want to say thanks to my parents and two sisters for supporting us like they have. And to Jasons WHOLE BIG family for taking us in over the holidays.

After opening presents at Nana & Papa's house, we ended up in Colorado! We stayed at Matt and Cara's house in Buena Vista and had a blast building a snowman and getting addicted to Day sof our Lives and The Biggest Loser (talk about winter motivation)! We also got to talk to Ken and Donna most nights on SKYPE, if you don't have it, get it!

We spent the week of Christmas in Monte Vista mostly with the Lowders. Sheldon and Loretta, thanks for letting me hang out there the whole time. It's not the same at Ken and Donna's without Ken and Donna.

The Shepherd/Meek Christmas Party was a success thanks to Loretta. We missed all the Utah/Idaho Families though.

Before we flew back home, we got to spend a night and day with Mike and Michelle's Family. It was so much fun, and we loved being around their kids and Michelles Family. Thanks so much for the love, card games and ice cream! I hope they've rubbed of on Jason and I a little...

I have to admit that I really missed my sisters, brother and parents. Jen, Nate and Lilly got a new extension to their family... baby Megan Whitney Merrill! Congrats!

And from what I've heard (read on the blog) Kristin's holiday was a wonderful one, full of potty training to spice things up a bit!
